I recntly got a 2005 trx450R and my friend has a 700R raptor he keeps buggin me to DRAG but i wanna know what the outcome might be b4 i accept. any feedback would be great thanks.

 

450r will win. i used to race my buddies 660 and beat it stock to stock. id pull hard in the beginning but he would start to catch up towards the end. now from what i have heard from friends with the 700, the new raptor is a little slower then the 660. so i think stock to stock, the 450r should be ahead

 

tell him that you want to race 300ft and you got him and do not look back when you are racing cause that is when you will slow up and lose. you will win in a 1/4 mile race to but it will be a lot closer..

it says a lot for the 700 raptor when fourwheeler magazine puts it against the outlaw (lmao)

 

so your friends said the 700 is slower than the 660?.... so yamaha came out with a new raptor that was slower than the old one? right.....

back to the topic. if you drag race make sure you only race 300 ft. or a little more than that like previously stated, or else the raptor will start reeling you in, because of the higher top speed it has

 

With any of these quads there is to many variables to be the same all the time. A 660,700, DS 650, predator or any of the 450's are all fast and they are all close. This is why you have so many arguments back and forth. The only way to know if you will beat him is to race him but just because you beat him doesnt mean you will beat the next guy. In a short race one little mistake is to much to over come on close machines.

I raced my buddies YFZ 450 stock for stock and beat him every time. He now has a full HMF and UNI filter while I am still stock and I beat him about 40% of the time. So he is faster now but it doesnt mean I cant beat him sometimes.

Someone else on a stock 450 might smoke me everytime you never know till you race and it wont be settled on a forum. Knowing when to shift your quad and getting a good start makes all the difference in the world when talking about close quads. Just my 2 cents [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]
