How well does a 4x4 Rancher plow snow ???
#1
I am considering purchasing a Cycle Country plow for my Rancher 4x4 ES and was wondering how well it will really plow.If not I am going with a bigger snow blower. Is a state plow better than a straight plow.??? I know it really depends on how wet the snowfall is.My new driveway is 350' long and I need something soon.Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I have a 2000 Rancher 4x4 ES and wondered the same question. I got great help in a post I placed in the "Other ATV Topics" section; see link below.
Decided on a Moose County 50" plow. I live in the Allentown suburbs, east of your location. We get average snow storms, with occasional +12" storms every couple years.
Our driveway is longer than yours. I decided on the smaller 50" to aid in deep snow removal, with the 50" width being wider that the Rancher, even with the blade fully turned. And the County's blade design, it will allow better deep snow removal in one direction, and yet be able to be angled eithter way for other snows.
Mounting the plow was straight forward. Fit and finish are top notch. I'll have to let you know how it works, because it hasn't seen any snow as of yet.
As far as a blower, great idea. But I've looked and could only find units made for the Polaris. Not sure if you could mount it to a Honda. And of course there is the cost. The only benefit of a blower is the ability to blow the snow a distance. With a plow, you must remember to remove the snow wider than the driveway, in order to allow snow removal from future storms.
Good luck... Here is the link:
