buying a new kids atv??????
#1
Hello all,
Im new here but not to the sport. Was thinking of buying my son a 4-wheeler this month for his 6th b-day. ive been reading some of the posts and got nervous of the bashing of the Kazuma falcon 90, which is what i had my eye on for him. I have a local dealer who sells them and are assembled and ready to ride. It seems like what ive read so far in the problem areas has to be with assembling these machines correctly? well i went to another dealer and put down a deposit on a 90cc mojomoto 4-wheeler but this one was $1400.00 should i reconsider the kazuma for $700.00 or go with the mojomoto? any advice would be greatlyappreciated! thanks in advance and i will do my best at offering some input.

I really don't know anything about the Kazuma Falcon 90, Other then what I have read on the fourm's. My grandson has A sun L 90 and we have had our share of problem's with it. Nothing that if you have a bit of mechanical experence you can't take care of yourself. These fourm's are filled with problem's on all make's of quad's. But if you figure in the amount of problem's compared to the amount of bike's sold, it is A very small amount of problem's. And there is alway's someone on here that can help you take care of any problem you may have. Good luck on deciding. And welcome to the fourm.

I am going to push the Unison Desert Cat 90 here again. My son had it out yesterday around the yard and was pushing
it really hard to keep up with me on the 400EX. That little quad can move! So far so good with it and all I have read here
this is no exception. You can get them from Raceway....check the ad up top. It is definately worth the extra cash! Gets delivered right to your door with minimal effort to assemble.
Never had experience with either that you mention, just throwing in my useless 2 cents.
Check the sizes of the bike with your kid too. My kid is 8 and 4'2" 62lbs so you have a sense
of how big the quad is when you see the pics.

Dont know if money is an issue but, if I were you I would start looking at the Suzuki lt80. They have great power lots of upgrades and are very reliable. If your son is on the tall side and can fit on one the Polaris 90 has even more power (with limiters until he is ready). The polaris also comes with a tethered kill, front and rear suspension, reverse, water cooled, and it's fully automatic. Polaris also includes a free youth helmet with every purchase.
Myself and a friend have both bought Kazumas for our kids and they were complete crap (dont know if they have improved in the last year). They are also hard to get parts for.
Keep in mind too that the top atv makers put a lot of research and development into thier machines, and you can sell them for almost what you paid for them.

Oh? You might want to double check that. That's a breather on the side to keep crap out of the fan and stator. Tricked me too for a minute.
The Polaris is a nice machine but pricey.

Hello, I don't know if you are using it for trail riding or racing, but either way, the Polaris Predator is nice. They have them in both the 50 or the 90.
I try to be careful not to step on any toes, but I would consider a main brand. You get what you pay for.

I would usually agree Blazer but not always in the mini world. Sometimes you just pay extra for a name.
I would buy from a reputable local dealer unless you plan to maintain or repair the quad yourself. If you don't like to tinker with stuff, then don't mail order. If you do, then you can save some money and have a nice machine.

thanks for the input guys! went back down to look at the kazumas and they are a lot smaller and cheaply made. im sticking with the moto mojo 90. looks like a lot better machine. its not a name brand but its from big dealerand looks to be made better. $1400 is still better than 2300 anyway. ill let everyone know how it is when i get it. thanks again.

barrel,
If this is the quad you are considering Mojo 90, you might want to go with Valder's advice on the Unison 90. Unison 90 You might even consider the Jetmoto 125 Jetmoto 125 from Raceway. Since you are set on buying a Chinese Quad you should make sure you can trust your dealer to follow through with warranty repair and parts as needed.
The $1400 price tag on that Mojo 90 is a little high for a 90cc Chinese quad. You would probably be better off with the Kazuma 90, heck you could buy two one to ride and the other one for parts.
If you have any reservations about the Mojo 90 dealer, consider buying your Chinese quad from Raceway. Save yourself the headaches latter on when your quad needs repair or parts.
Good Luck.
