i just got a yamaha 350x warrior from a friend. it is older, early 90s i think, and i am having problems getting it to start. i replaced the battery and now it makes the normal startup sounds, but refuses to catch and start. there was a couple of times that i got it running for maybe 30 seconds then it would die. i had the choke out, and the gas **** turned both up and down all to no avail. any ideas on what i am doing wrong, or what i need to get fixed to get it running?

 

try cleaning carburator, or air filter, thats all i can think of

 

try bump starting it and go from there. is your starter doing it's job?

 

bump starting works fine. it takes it some time to get started the first time, but once it is warm it bump starts easily.

i dont have the manual to know how to take apart the carb. do you guys know where i can find a link to it? i found it once, but i lost it.
