2000 350 4x4 es

The machine you are refering to is called the Rancher. It is a superb machine that will do anything you ask it to, although it certainly doesn't have awesome horsepower. Reliable manual transmission with a super low 1st gear (so you don't need a transfer case), and a nice torque sensing front differential. It is full-time 4wd, so you will want to add a Warn 424, which will make it selectable 2wd/4wd.
The Rancher is in the "in between" class. It isn't a huge heavy monster that the big bores have become, yet it is big enough to get the job done. As for a work quad, it is capable of light and medium chores, but don't try to pull any stumps with it.
The ES (electronic shifting) is a selenoid that does the sifting for you (instead of using your foot). There are a fair number of posts in here from folks having problems with them, so it's buyer beware if you are considereing one with ES.........
