The yfzs are reliable, and if you're going to trail ride a lot the raptor 700 would be a good
choice too.

U made a good pic, they are reliable (if you dont touch the motor like all machines) and it is a good trail machine.

If you havnt gotten this already, welcome to the forums.

The YFZ is a great MX and track machine but over geared for the trails. The Raptor 700 is only about 1 1/2 inch taller and has reverse. Excellant trail machine and dune machine.

I'd better get rid of the one I've had for over 2 years.......
Even though I've never experienced anything like what you've described.......

Thats not true, ignore this guy.

The yfz is not OVERGEARED, its geared with less topend than the raptor, so i dont know how that guy can think its overgeared..... MX is geared low not high....

Also reverse is useless if you are capable of picking your quad up.
Its made for people that are
A. Fat
B. Female
C. Children

I really liked the YFZ's that I rode.I don't see you having a problem trail riding with it unless you ride in really tight trails that require alot of backing up.I think you'll be happy with a YFZ in my opinion.

Answer to the question is YES. I have ridden mine in the trail quite a bit and it's fine there.

I haven't found no reverse to be an issue in the trails. The quad is only 350 lbs so it's easy enough to just lift up the back end and spin it around. Unless you're weak this shouldn't be a problem.

I ride with a 450 and we mainly trail ride and it handles the trails very well. If you are more into fast open trails it handles them great.

As far as maintenance dealer told him to change the oil every 8 hours, so he has been changing after every 2 rides with no problems.

He has had 3 issues with his (2 not really the quads fault)

One it just didnt run very good when he got it. He took it back to the dealer and they said he got the one that had been sitting in the showroom for a few months so the carb needed cleaning. they said they rejetted it and cleaned it out and now runs good.

Second blew out a stock front tire 2nd ride

Third the chain came off and smaked the gear shift bending it and the shaft not sure if just had to loose but it was still pretty new at the time.
