Try racing a YFZ on a track and tell us how you do. As you two wheel through every corner because 660s handle like a utility quad. The 660 chasis sucked so much that they junked it for the 700 and based the 700s chassis off of what? Oh that's right the YFZ.

If imconstipated isn't confused by now... anyway, to answer your original question without bias,
I would say that you would have fun on a yfz or a raptor. They are different, but still good reliable quads. If you plan on keeping them stock, I would say go with the yfz as it is race ready out of the box, and it is geared suprisingly well for trails too. However, the yfz is a lot more expensive to modify, so if you plan on spending some money, the raptor 660 can be made faster. The raptor is also pretty good for trails, but first I would recomend getting a smaller front sproket, I run a -1 tooth from stock and it works great. Either way you go, you're still making a good choice, so pick the one that you like best and have fun.

YFZ OR RAPTOR?????
I have a yfz and happen to ride with guys on raptors and honda 450s. I've ridden them many rimes. The raptors rally do shine in very tight wooded trails because at very low speeds you don't need to stress the clutch. You can start from a standing still without any trottle and it will move fovard very slowly. It helps when climbing tight trails too.
However if you're going faster (that is what buing a sport quad is all about, wright???) and it gets ruff, they will bounce all over. Same for faster turning. as far as racing without turning they are pretty close, however they never beat me.
As for the YFZ it does ok on really tight trails, but once they widen its really awesome!!! It feels light and tight, you can throw the back around by simply shifting your weight, you can take it to the track if you want to ( where the raptor will totaly sck)
The best thing abouth the YFZ is it has a really strong mid-range, which means you get most horsepower to the ground quickly, but without having to redline it all the time - consequently helping the engine be more reliable.
As far as changing the oil, anyone who beats the smack out of a machine and doesn't change it often, regardless of make and model is a .......
If it means anything one of my "Raptor" bodies is selling his to buy a yfz.

I agree with you mostly, but I don't think that the raptor is too much worse on the track than the yfz, The extra 200cc is very noticible and is enough to counter the extra weight. I was skeptical of the raptor at first as it feels tall and skinny, but once I got used to it, I was able to beat yfz's except on hairpins where the raptor will bicycle at any speed. But in the straight stretches, It is easy to beat about anything out there. So Both machines are great, but I think the raptor can be a better quad, although the yfz is better out of the box.

Ya people need to give the 660 a little more credit on the track. I think they handle just fine on the track and in the woods. For me its A great quad and has pleanty of power and still reliable. Also this thread is about what you think about YFZ's not raptors and other quads. I gave my opion of what I think about YFZ and I get attacked, I was just stateing what I have seen even though I dont own A YFZ. I think I will stick with my raptor(rember theres no replacement for displacement) Any how I will Be pasteing Silent101 On my flag for the dunes 18 through 21th so you will know its me.
