ok guys im new to the forum i have an 84 honda 200s atc just rebuilt the carb and it runs but i cant get it to idle as soon as i let go of the throtal it dies whats going on i have messed with the idle screw on the side but its not doing anything i think i should just go buy a new carb

 

Sounds like the pilot jet is still plugged shut. remove the pilot jet, and look thru it like looking down a straw. You should be able to see light coming thru the center hole. If you cant it get the center hole to open up, just buy a new one...they are about 5 bucks.

 

Yup, pull the carb and drop the bowl and blow it out real good (through the jets).... with a compressor!

 

i cleaned the whole thing out let the jets sit in carb cleaner and then cleaned them out they were all good and could see through all the holes
