Is it possible to make a 300-400lb, fully independant susp., 4x4? The idea of having the best of both worlds is pretty cool, but is there just too much suspension/drive train and motor weight to get it as light as a true on sport bike? I think Burp has the right idea with the Reng, but its only about 40lbs lighter than the Outty. I don't think it's enough. If some serious weight is shed and the powerplant and suspension stays the same, I'm in.

the renegade is heavy like the other bomb quads becuase everything is heavy duty...I have also heard from others its just a rumor but the renegade may be made a 2x4 shedding some more weight

A 2 X 4 Renegade would be about 65#s lighter than a 4 X 4 Renegade.

Probably will see it released next year. The main problem is that BRP can't make enough 800 engines for the demand. Thats why they aren't doing a RUV. Once they get their new factory built, they will have the capacity to build more engines and expand the ATV models some more.

I know of a fabrication shop who have cut apart a BRP 650 Outlander and are making a Rhino type vehicle to be debuted at the Sand Sport Super Show next month. They have plans on making a 800 version of the BRP RUV next. Since it is a BRP dealer, BRP is flying down some design engineers to check it out for future reference.

A new era in off road racing????? Well it would have to be a new era. In my opinion, people race everything. Arent we seeing utility quads and side by side UTVs being raced? Yes we are. Heck they are even racing riding lawnmovers. Those races may not be what some of us want in a race, but people will race them.

I think the quad you mentioned is already being built, well, except for the 4x4 part . I read in a magazine that for 2007 Polaris is going to have an outlaw 500 and an outlaw 525. The outlaw 525 has a KTM 525 engine in it, and the listed dry weight was 399 lbs. I'm going to try and find that magazine right now. Knowing my luck it was an April fools issue, ... although I really think it was legitimate.
