Titan 589's vs Goodyear Mudrunners
#2
I have run the Mudrunners on both my 99 Sportsman and also my 00 Xplorer. The traction is excellant in the worst mud/snow conditions around. The ride on hardpack is easy to.Steering is also good.
Though I have not run the 589 Titans,im so very happy with the Mudrunners that I dont think I'd even want to try the Titans.
Titans dont appear to have as severe a lug pattern as the Mudrunners, though they do look like they will certainly get the job done.
I have no real comparison to give you between these two,so I'll let someone who is running the Titans speak,

I am looking at the exact same two types of tires.
If I go with the mudrunners then they will fit on the factory rims. However, if 589's are purchased some aftermarket rims will be needed.
The 589's were a surprise winner in a shootout in one of the magazines, we all know how accurate the info can me in those publications. Anyways, some club members have the mudrunners & highly recommend them. Most likely will go with the mudrunners & save a couple hundred dollars in aftermarket rims.
