I wanted to know a little bit about the Renegade sport quad at least since I'm a bomb guy. All I know is it looks good and pricey?

What's better about it than the other sport quads as a group, since it's in the market against that group? I used to be a kawi owner, and the renegade looks like it would compete against the kvf700, but I don't know much about that one either. Is it competing against the DS's?

Is it faster, better handling, belt driven, better ride, have reverse, or none or some of the above?

I am also considering it. I do know it has reverse and has a belt. It is not belt driven it is shaft driven. I know what you were getting at though. I dont think it is meant to compete with the ds as it is a sport 4x4 probably a little closer to the kawi 700 but even closer to the polaris scrambler 500 4x4. If anybody has any more info on this atv such as someone that has ridden one please fill us in. Thanks in advance

I've been considering a Renegade as well but good grief! $9300?? Ughhhhh, hard to justify a toy for that much money. It's pretty much exactly what I'd like but if they came out with a 650 I might be able to justify to myself the price difference vs. performance won't be that much.

My concern is about the mud... i c the fenders are cut back. A guy would be cake in mud. Its all in good fun! I'll have to wait til it comes out and look @ the fenders.

To answer some of your questions Kawiyowee, of course it has sport suspension, but they say you can only jump to a certain extent. Not enough travel, unlike the DS. It has reverse and all the goodies. What ive seen from the outtie it gives the sport quads a run 4 their money in a drag. For handling and so on, we'll just have to wait and see when it comes out in a few months

They did a review a couple months back in Dirt Wheels, they had one for testing, but the wheels weren't welded right, and one broke during testing !! All in all, they liked the power and suspension, but they said the steering felt heavier than the Outie 800, which sounded odd, since it is 45 lbs lighter than the Outie. 62 hp in a lighter chassis sounds great, with sport handling, but I've sat on the 650 Outlander, it seemed big to me ( I'm 5' 9", 170 lbs) so that would be a lot for us small to medium guys to handle. Now if they take that new 500 EFI twin in the new Outlander 500, put it in a medium sized, lighter sport frame with 2-4wd and long travel suspension, and keep the weight down, that would tempt a lot of people to look into it real seriously. I might even be tempted to replace my old Wolverine for something like that, if they can keep the price down, like a lot of you, I'm having trouble seeing paying near 10,000 for a stock quad !!!

Kawioyee....I also am VERY interested in the Renegade. Some of the prelimenary remarks that i have heard up here (NW) is that there are questions about the suspension. Putting the Outty 800 as a sport model sounds good. However (as you well know) the riding could be much harder on a sport (jumps). One guy up here, i think even contacted BRP about the suspension. I am confident with the recent quality of their other products that these guys are "on it."

I see at the CanAm site msrp $12,699 for the Renegade! Is that Canadian?

Looks like they're promoting it as a trail racing bike. Also the ground clearance is spec'd as 12". I guess everybody knows the Outys ground clearance is advertised as 12", and in reality it's more like 9"-10", even for the 07's!

Us outy guys try to get more by changing springs and we put up with it cause we luv the quad. Hope the Renegade has the full 12"?
