break in after honing ?
#1
i retooled the top end of my warrior because of a blown base gasket.. i had the cylinder lightly honed .. valves looked good , replaced base head gasket... .. Since the old cross hatching was still in the cylinder from the original bore, and the rings look good the guy who did the honing said just to use the same rings.. so thats what im doing.. but now how do you break something like this in ? just like anything else. ? or should i ride light since the cross hatch is probably not as tight as the OEM ? Thanksf or any help

I would never ever use rings that have been heat cycled. It's just not worth it. But what is done is done so take it out warm it up and go for some wide open throttle runs.
Molly rings break in very fast and once they take a set they are locked in place.
IMPO to re-use rings is about like reusing toilet paper.

Man if you have it tore apart get it bored and put in a Wiseco piston and stage 1 cam. I wouldn't reuse the rings. I agree like reusing toilet paper. Why go through all the trouble and reuse them? Just my opinion. Simple to do, i'd do it if I was you. You will be very happy.
