Default carb problem with raptor help

well i went to start my raptor and i heard a pop and i looked down and the carb hose was disconnected off the air box and then i checked my oil and i noticed it was really thin so i smelled it and there was alot of gas in it. so i decided not to start it considering i have gas in my oil but before that i tried to start it and it woudlnt work but then i tried to start it one more time since some guy said he knows alot about them and he works on them all the time and it started but ran like chit im guessing its because there was gas in the oil so then i got it home and called blockers yamaha and they said that my float in my carb was gettin stuck because i was getting to much air and gas was spraying right into the oil each and everytime i go to start it is that true or was that a crock of chit
