front sprocket for 400ex?

I read some where in these forums that if you change the front sprocket on a 400ex it would change the low end power and not the top speed.
is that true? What is the stock sprocket? and what do I change it to?

Stock is 15. If you have a hopped up bike you could run 16. Mine is stock and pulls stock gearing fine but if you ride slower trails you should buy a 14 tooth.
