2005 Kodiak 450 346 mile and 72 hrs of run time. This machine is used for watering an MX track( hauls workers, hoses, pumps and hauling the EMTs around the track on race day). Trail ride time is about 300 miles of the mileage. The rider that trail rides is not an aggresive rider or horses the machine around.

Two part question: First is how often do you change oil, second part how often do you grease the wheeler?

The oil is not black yet, Just a dark amber color. I have greased it twice now, The grease that is purged out of the rear pivots and u-joints is clean looking.

I guess what I am asking is how often do you guys service your rides. (I know I will get the answers from every ride to once a year.)

 

I change my oil after every 2 to 3 long rides (may have some short playing inbetween that I dont count). I grease all my zerks about every 5 to 6 rides depending on weather conditions. Clean my filter based on looks so can be after 2 rides and has been as many as 6, again depends on conditions at the time. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]

 

I clean the air filter, grease the fittings, clean/change spark plug, change the oil and oil filter every 6 hours. Im paranoid what can i say. And i put a lot of money into oil lol... mobile 1 red cap!

 

clean air filter when it needs it..( usualyl before any major ride)
change oil usually once or twice a season(fall spring winter... i don't ride it much anymore)
grease zerks before every big ride

 

Everything twice a year, unless it needs it sooner.
