Dude, just a suggestion. Write down all your thoughts/questions then post one message?

I believe there is a chip built in limiting your RPM's the first 10-15 hours so break in period is pretty much moot. Personally I think your first two hours is your break in period and I believe you should ride it hard..thats JMO FWIW.

I didn't read anything in the manual about the RPM's being limited and the dealer said he wasn't sure about it either. I hope it is true, because more power would be unbelievable. Also the Carlisle ACT tires seem to be very sufficient. My father in law's BF 750 has the MudLites on it and his machine sits about 2" taller than the 800 XT.

sorry for all the questions but i am trying to get some knowledge about this 800 before i buy it because i have had troubles with other brands of atvs before and this one will have to last a long time . I do have another question and that is the overheating thing that i have read in here because i have had overheating problems with my kawi so i want to know if this is an issue with the 800 or not. Thanks!

I couldn't either but I'm sure I read on another forum from a guy who has a dealership shortly after the 800 was released he was told by a BRP rep. that they were programmed to limit RPM's the first so many hours. Prob. just a way to keep fools from killing themselves.

There is not a break in map in the computer. Its capable of running the same kind of dyno numbers right off the floor or 20 hours later. I have allways been told to break it in like you are going to ride it. Or ride it like you stole it. The engine oil service mesage will come on at 10 hours to remind you to get the first sirvice.

PS. don't let the dealer charge you some wild figure and tell you the valves need adjusted as part of the first service. The first service at the 10 hour enterval is only dealing with fuild changes and inspecting certain parts.

Amen brother! Seriously, only the Ski-Doo snowmobiles have a chip/map that burns out with so many hours.

Run it wide open!
