i had to redo my transmission and am having problem shifting.i bought new gears,forks,drum,shift shaft and shfts.when i tested the trans. before putting the whole thing together the detent lever kept getting stuck behind the shift star causing it to stop shifting.the shifter moves up and down but dosen't change gear.i put the old shaft in and it worked fine or so at first.i noticed the detent lever was bent a little during shipping and figured that was why it was messing up. it ran great and was shifing perfect when guess what--it's stuck in first and not shifting.if any one has any idea how to cure the problem or trick to fix please help.from what i could tell the part of the case the keeps the detent lever from falling in behind the star is not high enough and my have to put a bead on that spot of the lever and grind it down smooth to stop this.
