cant be done unless you can fabricate them yourself. you need a front axle to do it . i think it is pretty damn stupid , but thats the way it is!

Mykool doesn't sound too cool, doesn't read very well, and definitely has no experience with drum brake Hondas...but that's the way it is!

You should definitely go for the rear disc brake conversion for the Rancher, and I know Highlifter was working on a front disc conversion for the Honda a couple of years ago but I think it was for 4WD only...you should check their website

Unfortunately you would have to fabricate something for the TRX300...I had a 95 TRX300 that would go everywhere I needed it to go, but those freakin' rear brakes were the worst...triple sealed my a$$!...they were always filling with water and crap and then rusting up. I looked for a long time and never found any way to solve the problem.

When it came time to buy a bigger ride, I skipped Big Red because they had friggin' drum brakes and still do!...went with a Suzuki Vinson with discs front and rear

Honda....get it through your thick corporate skulls....disc will always outperform drum in EVERY application...you charge enough for your ATVs...include the better brakes in the price!!!

actually texasroadie, i just tried to get them on my two wheel drive rancher about two weeks ago. you can get one on the rear with 12 inch rims other than that you are SOL! and yes i hate honda drum brakes as much as any honda owner, i work on them every couple months. if you ride in mud or water they will (sooner or later) get wet , unless you regrease everything every other month.

Sorry....my mistake amigo....the way you phrased it, it sounded as though you thought Efurdla1 was stupid for wanting to change to discs...

So you're not a fan of the "Triple Sealed" drum brakes? My old TRX300 had the same problem as your Rancher, only there wasn't a rear disc conversion made for the TRX300.

HOWEVER....have you heard anything about a Pete's Small Engineering? they apparently make disc conversion for the Hondas

Default 2x4 disc brake conversion

a friend of mine ordered the high lifter disc brake conv. for his foreman 4x4, but i agree i dont think they make them for 2x4's. besides a 2 wheel drive is no fun for the mud, get you a foreman 450, high lifter 4-2-4 selector and the disc brake conv. a winch and a set of 27x12x12 tri claw mud machines for the back and 27x10x12 bi claws up front with a lift kit. my friends foreman has all of those and its a bad motha f***** in a mud hole. he makes cake work out of holes that grizzleys and brute forces cant touch!
