I am a brand new person to ATCs...I got a 200M for $250...runs well but needs brakes...i have already ordered parts on e-bay. My questions is, does the 200M require mixed fuel, and if so, what ratio. Also, I couldn't find the oil plug to change the oil...where is it located?

 

No, its a 4 stroke. Just regular gas. The oil drain plug is located on the left side of the motor, all the way at the bottom below the shifter. It is a huge(7/8?) nut. It is spring loaded so be careful when removing. There is also a little filter in there that you may want to clean/replace. GL!

Thanks...that helps a lot. Does anyone have a good place where I can get replacements for the plastic fenders and the air filter assembly? Also (foregive my ignorance) but my 200m has a pull start, has a start button (which doesn't do anything) and also has a battery. If it has a pull start, why would it need a battery?

 

hello. for the plastic look on ebay i see lots of fenders and stuff for 200m. also 200e and 200es fenders will fit a 200m as well. as for the battery there is a starter infront of the motor so that is what the battery and start botton are for. if it dosent work the battery could be dead or wiring problem or the motor aint the right motor and has no starter? check my photo page of my 200m and let me no if the motor looks the same with electric start

So the cord on my pull start broke today...was easy to fix...Swapped out the old battery with the battery from my ride on mower and the old battery was dead, but the start button still didn't do anything...how can I test to see if the problem is the starter, or the starter button?

 

you could jump your solenoid. You just take a screwdriver or wire and toch the two top connectors. Or you could just go from the battery striaght to the starter... If it turns over its your button OR solenoid.

 

I feel the pull start is just for backup. Who would rather have to get off the trike, and pull a cord when they could more easily just push a button? The 200m has no oil filter(unless you consider that little metal screen a filter).

MagnateAtaxia: I had this same problem with my 86250sx. Do what HondaAtcRoxz suggests, and if jumping the soleniod works, try this.
At the front of the trike, find the two wires for the starter button. One should be positive, and the other wont be anything. It goes to the solenoid as a signal wire. If one wire isnt hot(positive), theres a problem. Theres a break in the wire somewhere. Instead of digging through the wiring harness for the break, I just ran a new wire directly from the battery, up to the starter button. Viola! Its all good now! Good luck!
