Default 185 three wheeler stator test

Under the flywheel/magneto there are two coils--top one is black and has a single red wire coming from it..bottom one is bigger but is copper colored and has a greena nd yellow(2 wires) coming from it..Is it correct as follows:

Red wire is the main output for the spark..red wire to ground reads about 240 OHMS One test lead to Red wire and the other test lead grounded to the base of the coil case..........
Larger copper colored coil is for lights--(On one I have you read OHMs across the two wires-green and yellow)The other on I have reads nothing across the green and yellow wires.....

Little confused because the copper colored coil is a good bit larger and would appear to be the one for spark but apparently this is not the case....Am I seeing this thing right??

Default 185 three wheeler stator test

O.K. on the coil unit I installed sounds like the excite coil checks out ok but what about the charge coil? Should it read across the green and yellow(reading from one contact on the connector plug to the other).

As I mentioned, the one I took out read(ohms)on the charge coil, when I checked from the green contact to the yellow on the connector plug) BUT the unit I put in the needle might wiggle slightly when tested from green to yellow on the connector...

So sounds like my exciter coil is O.K. What is the right way to check the charge coil and what readings should I get? Thanks

Looks like (I hope) I found the problem..Spark plug wire elbow connector that snaps on the plug seems to be bad. Continuity through the wire but none through the elbow connector...Will be tomorrow evening before I tackle re-installing my stator and a new wire and elbow and S Plug...Would srill like to know more about OHMing the coils if you know without a lot of reouble. The one in it now sure checks different to the one I took out....Thanks so much.
