you could the polaris comsume line and tell them calmly what your going threu w/ this bike and tell them about the dealer experince and see what they say. sounds like they didnt set the computer (efi) right or the ecu (on board computer) is junk. if you did a serch on it you will see that a few have been replaced under warranty. good luck.

I love my EFI. I have rode my machine hard through mud, sunk it up over the seat. Lots of very hard rides. Not a thing wrong with it (knock on wood). Runs smooth always starts within two seconds. You just got a lemon as you say. It sucks and polaris should do something about it. Me and buddy ride together, he has a carb and he is always stalling it in the mud and then it floods out. Given he could just be a bad driver but mine has never stalled. Just my two cents.

i agree with you 100% !! your story is very close to mine. i have a 2006 efi camo, been in the shop twice. have 11hrs on it now. was very exited when i bought my first new atv but now it makes me sick every time i see it. i spend most of my time riding my 1986 250 honda because i am afraid the polaris wil leave me stranded.

We have both a carbed 700 (mine) and an EFI 500 (wife's). This makes side-by-side comparisons really easy. Here's what we've noticed.

1) My carbed 700 starts faster. Barely touch the key and it's running. Hers can take a couple of tries. It's 100% reliable, just not as snappy on a cold startup.

2) There's basically no noticeable power or performance difference despite the 200cc displacement difference.

3) The EFI gets better mileage.

I like the simplicity of the carb, but EFI seems to yield both better mileage and more efficiency (i.e. same power from a smaller engine). If I had it to do over again I'm not sure which way I'd go.

No noticable power or performance difference between a 500EFI and a 700??? Then there must be something wrong with your 700...

there is nothing wrong with his 700. I also had a 700 carb and now have a 500 efi and there is no real difference in power. The 700 does have more pulling power thought but for regular trail riding you could not tell the difference. I'm sure there would be a difference in the 700 efi and the 500 efi thought.
