Greetings,

I recall a post regarding pull starting that mentioned some sort of compression release valve that helps the engine turn-over easier. Can anyone tell me what this is and where its located on the 450ES? Also, would this help the engine turn-over easier and start better in winter?

DrRod:
I believe the compression release is now automatic on all machines. Older machines had a lever at the top of the head.
What I would do is if you suspect your machine may be hard to start because of the cold, turn the engine over a couple of times with the pull start to loosen up the engine before trying the electric start.

I'd say it's automatic...except on the 400YZF (three levers/buttons to push in order to get running). Anyway, with electric starter, you won't need it...and it probably automatic (or it doesn't work).
