It seems like everytime I fix something, something else, unrelated goes wrong! Take a stab at this with me please.

2001 Raptor 660

I just relplaced the Starter one-way bearing and idle gear 3. Everything is FINE with the starter, went off without a hitch, starts - runs - stops with no noise or probs. Two days ago, I could be out in the woods, nail the throttle through all the gears and be FINE. Today, I go out, get through first, nail the throttle in second and the engine bogs down like its starvin for fuel, get through second, same in third. I dont get it, it was FINE two days ago before the starter clutch took a dump, now it runs like *** when i go above 3/4 throttle in second and third... I didnt touch the carburetor, nothing is different.. I'm going to check the plug, adjust chain (sprockets may need replacing), bla bla.. Anyone think of anything else? Thank you in advance..

sounds like a breather issue... Check the gas cap hose, and the cap it self for debris.... (I've had to tear down the cap before and clean it out... same issue)

hope that's all it is...

Carburetor taken out, opened up.. All jets cleaned, diaphragms in good condition, floats good, ran carb cleaner through everything, its spotless.. Also replaced spark plug just in case.. Fuel lines seem clear.. Same problem. There are two breather hoses coming from the carbs (one from each), they are connected to the boots coming from the air box. I'll check the one from the gas cap also.. Thanks for the suggestion.. No possibility something with the stator could be frigged up, right? Everything went back together like clockwork Thanks!

If your batt. is charging your stator should be ok.Still sounds like carb or vapor lock. Try the choke when you are hammerring it and see if it comes alive, I had a prob. with a piece of air filter gasket getting into my main jet, on the griz, what a tear down on the trail, 45 min. later we were riding no probs. after that.Good luck.

Hey, my 02 raptor is starting to do the same thing, one thing after another. I had a similar problem not long ago and it was suggested to me to clean out my air filter, mind you it didn't look bad, but I did and had no trouble since. Good luck.

ok so tomorrow I'm going to pick up from work (I work at a stealership, thank god) a new K&N Air Filter, and a new GYT-R Jet Kit and new chain and sprocket kit. I'll install them all tomorrow and see how it goes.. Thanks for the suggestions.. Please keep them coming if anyone can think of anything else.

If its bogging it has to be the fuel or air, it doesnt have anything to do with electrical. My money goes on the carb or air filter, something along those lines. Done a compression check lately? Im guessing the jet kit will fix it. Just throw the same size jets in it.
