Default Eton fixed

I couldnt find my post previously about our 05 Eton V90. We had had it in various shops, each person diagnosed something different. The last place, a dealer, had said they wanted to clean fuel lines for a bunch of $$, and some ridiculous $$ for FINDING the oil leak. The first person said my voltage regulator was missing. I guess he put on a used one, we didnt pay him any $$ for it. This dealer said we had water in our engine, blah blah blah. The regulator that had been put on there was bad, bc that was the only thing keeping it from starting!!!!!! After we spent $100 on the stator. They want lots $$$$$$ to replace oil pump. So they got worked out that they are going to block off all oil lines, and we will just add the oil to the gas manually. I hate it that they thought that they could take advantage of me by telling me all kinds of stuff but my husband gets on phone and the whole story changes. But they told me the regulator was $36 but they told him it was $89....I will just be glad when it is fixed and done, been in shop ALLLLL summer. Ha! For a under $100 part.....

Hopefully everything will work out for you this time..It sounds like your local mechanics are really trying to take you to the cleaners...ALot of people get rid of the oil injection anyway so don't worry about that part...There is lots of good info on here so I would ask questions here and do the work yourself or get someone you trust to do the work after researching it here.

I have read TONS of posts, and have posted quite a few myself. I am glad that I have not been the only one with this problem with the Eton. I mean, I wouldnt want anyone to have trouble, but I think most of us have tried the same thing, stator and such, that thru all this the regulator never being mentioned except that mine was missing...so maybe it will the others that have the Eton.
