Grizzly 700 running hot?
#1
I took my new griz out riding this past weekend... It seemed like it was just running hot. Has anyone else noticed this? the plastic that sits above the header just as it leaves the exhaust canister gets WAY too hot. They definately should have at least put the reflective heat tape on the plastic there. I also decided to pop the gas cap after riding for a while. I heard the gurggling, typical to the gas boiling syndrome... (same issue I've had on my older models) I thought Yamaha had this licked with the relocation of the gas tank...
Has anyone else noticed this??
Feel free to post your other issues...
(over all I still love this quad... )

Get it back to the dealer. There has been some post regarding this on other sites.
If you ride it again and it gets HOT check the gas to see if it boiling. Also check the header pipe to see if it's glowing. This is a lean condition i believe.
Good luck.

My Grizzly 700 has done just what you are describing. The gas was boiling in the tank. It was a fairly warm day. Since then I have added some insulation on the area between the exhaust and the gas tank. This stopped the gas boiling, but it still is too hot to me. I plan to add Highlifter Heat Fighter to the oil and the coolant before next summer. I told my dealer, but he didn't seem too concerned. You can buy the stick on insulation from places like Dennis Kirk.
