Default 48mm vs. dual carbs?

Hi all, I am having a TVI built 720 with a full race head, cams and 14.1 compression. I was wondering what to do about a carburetor. I currently have a tm45, but I don't think that will be the right carb for my setup. I was wondering if I should go with a tm48, lectron 48 or a dual setup. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

I would go with what your engine builder tells you. The head design loves dual carbs on these engines, but if you dont have the cam or raised rev limiter to take advantage of it then it is of no help to you. Your engine builder knows your combo better then anyone.

Cleat - Sometimes the little things don't get discussed but make sure you run high octane fuel with that build

Good luck with your build. That sounds like fun

cleatis, im running almost the exact set-up.....i have found that the lectron 48 for my acpplication is way far the best armripping set-up.....i spent quite few hours on the dyno, i could get the lectron to perform pretty well, those duals took to much skill for me to get them spot on... ..

Agreed.

If your a hardcore drag racer, go with the duals. If your a do-it-all kind of a guy, keep the single.

Thanks for the info guys. I will definitely discuss this with the builder. He already told me to run straight 110 race gas. I think I'm leaning toward a single carb just for the ease of use, and jetting.

i talked to gary several times about it. He really wasnt a fan of the lectron with the issues it was haveing then...i went from the tm45 then to the dual 39's ,then to the lecton......if not for the performence alone, i rated the lectron above the others for the ease of the throttle pull...as easy as the stock carb....going from the tm45 or duals to the lectron feal like u hit it with a big shot of nos....very noticable......but ive heard from others that gary can get those duals tuned to rip , i just couldnt get them to stay tuned...
