Default Sportsman 4WD Engagement issues

Hello fellow riders. I am having some issues with my Sportsman 4WD engaging when the 4WD swith is turned off. I have been riding in the sand and snow and have notice that when I am in 2WD the front tires still engage. I have put the bike in reverse (with the switch off) and reversed to make sure it was disengaging. It was, and then as soon as I put it back in drive and hit the gas it engaged again. It is somewhat sparatic, it doesn't always engage at the same RPM, but none the less I am thinking that is should not be engaging at all. I have owned over 5 Polaris ATV and none of the other did this. Have any of you run into this problem? I would really appreciate some insight on this. Thank you a lot.

disregard my PM it's late and didn't realize you just posted. Anyhow I too have experienced the same problem. I told my dealer and they were in disbelief and left it at that(last winter). The snow is back now and not sure if it's going to doit again or not. This shouldn't happen when in 2WD. I noticed it when i was in low gear going through deep snow in 2WD and started to get stuck then out of nowhere the front wheels engaged and away i went.
