Default Idle speed bruin

I dont know anything about carbs to really be messing with them. My bruin has always seemed to had trouble starting and staying idle unless I had the choke on. I cant warm it up with out leaving the choke open. I shut the choke down and it dies right away. My wifes bruin 250 starts up with one push of a button, doesnt have to mess with the throttle or anything.
So, my question is, where do I adjust the idle screw? Is it the brass screw that has a phillips head and rigid ends that you can turn with your fingers under the carb? This drives me crazy that I have to leave the choke open or constantly rev the engine to keep it running. It runs fine after being warmed up for quite a while...so I guess when its hot. Any help would be appreciated.

This isnt my CARB but the screw connected to the hose on the bottom left of the pic is what I'm guessing. IF so, which way should I turn it, or where else would it be?
Any help would be aprreciated.

Turning the screw clockwise would raise the rpms.
Leaving thr choke on for warmup wont hurt a thing..in fact thats what its there for. Its not a real choke, its an enrichening circuit, so no air is restricted, just more fuel is added. The choke wont cause any damage by using it.

If you are having trouble starting real easy and all you want to do is just touch the button to turn it on is that you may have to bring it to a repair shop and get the carb cleaned and adjusted and it should run like brand new. How many hours is on it do you think?

50-60, just had it serviced too..but its always been like that from what I remember. I doubt they cleaned the carb, maybe thats something I should try.

so if I do leave the choke on when idling its fine? Maybe its bad for sport quads?- thought i heard it somewhere
Is thats the screw then?
-thanks

did they clean the carb or did they just change the oil in the service. Is your air filter clean to get a good start, also have you changed the spark plug to give it a good start. The carb is the main thing for you to get the good and easy start over just pressing the button without the choke or throttle.

I'm having the exact same problem with my 06 4x4 Bruin, I turn the enrichment screw in and it idles better, than it warms up and it is to fast of an idle, I back it off when it is warm to a nice idle. When it is cold same thing. won't idle with the choke on. I also have about 50 hrs on my Bruin and will be taking it in for it's first service. Maybe the valves do need some adjusting to correct this problem.

I have seen the problem and it was corrected by it was brought to the repair shop and they rebuild and clean the carb no matter how many hours are on you engine. I makes your atv run like brand new.

They did not clean the carb, the plug is new and the air filter is clean. Perhaps I do have a dirty carb.
They just changed the oil, plug, cleaned the air filter, adjsuted valves and checked things, waste of $250..lol
So...is that gold/brass screw the screw??

when you said they corrected the problem and rebuilt the carb was it a factory problem? covered under warranty.

Mine will idle fine, BUT I have to leave the choke on. OR if I have it running for a long time. I do usually let it sit for a while in between rides now that I have a son.(no time) I do turn the gas off though. Rode 1x in the last 3 months and going out this morning.
I guess if I can't fix it with the screw (if someone can confirm which one plz) I wont mess with the carb unless I have to. If I do I might as well buy a K&N air filter and a jet kit since I'll have the carb apart.

I got a jet kit on mine, just so you know if you do a jet kit and a hi flow filter, you are going to have to invest in an exhaust,or it will all be a waste of money.
As far as your problem,I have a problem with idling when I get it all muddy. It just doesn't want to idle.If i'm not mistaken though that is the screw that you are referring to.It's goldish-yellow with a cable running to it.That's probably not going to help a whole lot though.I used to have a problem with mine idling when it was cold.I had found out that my filter was dirty and needed to be reoiled. On a hi flow filter,it has to be cleaned and oiled after everytime you ride or it will run like s**t,I promise.
The jet kit will do alot for the throttle response though, put the three together(pipe, jet kit,and filter)and you see a noticable difference.
I hope that I have helped you a bit.

Ok thanks. I would get a pipe if I could get one to be as quiet as the stock one.
