Default blaster won't rev

i took this 99 blaster in on trade for a mustang, the guy said it was running strong and then just quit, not being mechanically inclined he said it needed a new carb, i took the carb apart and it was clean, no clogs etc. i tried to crank it, still no good, so i started checking for spark, there was none, first thing i replaced was the CDI unit, that got it running. it runs very nice at low speeds and idle, but it won't get into the power band, so it just won't speed up. i replaced the plug, and i jumped the TORS wire, still no good. i have looked for the parking brake switch i have heard mentioned, but i don't think mine has it. this one is all stock, i don't know too much about two strokes,
but i know the carb and all its jets are clean, has good fuel flow, new CDI unit and new plug. what am i missing????
Thanks
Jeff

with the air filter on i guessing if you took your plug out and inspected it. it would be wet all around the threads and the electrod. if so your too rich and may need to rejet it. try going down on the jet size a few. hope this helps.

your plug should look like a brown paper sack. not to wet/rich and definatly not white/lean.
