ok Im almost 15, about 145 pounds and like 5'7. And i need to upgrade. my new favorite thing to ride is the dunes. But i am an all around rider of the dunes, motocross, xc. i do a bit of everything. Im looking at the 450s and z400s. eihter one is a big step up. But i have ridden both a few times. I love the 450s power but i love the z400s comfort and reverse. But i am competitve and i know that. The z would get beat without a lot in it. SO its kinda of a toss up but im leaning toward a used 450. But i also am not sure which 450 the ltr, yfz, or 450r? i like the 450r's reliabilty and most hp. stock. I like the ltrs wide stance and efi. I like teh yfz because its right in hte middle with the power and stance and looks to be good all around. Im mostly going to be riding the dunes and desert tho. So what would u recommend? thanks and i hope i was despcriptive enough. BTW. im only looking to put a pipe and paddles (or like razr2s for everything else) on it for a while till im used to the power.

i love my 660 but my friends got a 450r ( races gncc with it) thats got a filter, pipe, cam, sprockets, and some suspension work adn i love that thing. it was amazing even when it was stock. i like it a lil more than the yfz but its all a personal preference. ride a few different ones. if ur thinkin z400 just go with the 400 ex. z400 is just more expensive for parts thats all. i just like my 660 cause electric start and reverse is nice, but since u do dunes reverse wont be used that much.

well i will be riding all around. but yeah reverse isnt huge. Im am probably just going to go with a 450 but im not sure of which one. i like teh yfz so thats what ill look for.

I would go YFZ also, but you really won't go wrong with any of them as long as they are in good shape. Be forewarned, the '04/05 450R was a touch lower on power than the Yammer, while '06/7 has a touch more-stock of course. I don't really think it matters much, because once you throw a pipe and intake on, the balance of power could swing either way. They all have plenty of power though. I haven't seen any LTR's for sale used yet, maybe once a few other 450s come out?

yeah i havent seen any ltr450 for sale used either. a lot of votes for the yfz. The kfx is going to be expensive and im sure not going to find used ones. so probably the yfz 450.
