06 450r cracked frame
#1
Just wondering if anyone has had this problem with the 450r I bought it new in oct of 05, it has been raced flattrack only, called the dealer yesterday, they looked at it and said Honda would stand behind it, I have the extended warranty, they also said they have seen a few do that so it must be common, probably should gusset the new frame before they start changing things over to it.

I have rolled it twice, easy rolls though, lets keep in mind I am 36 years old and I am not going to do anything to crazy, stock shocks, +2 JD performance a-arms and dura blue eliminator axle and the hrc kit, ac nerf bars that is all I have done to it, the cracks are starting in back of the top motor mount or in front of where the top sub frame is bolted on it looks like a cast piece welded in and it is right behind the weld, on both sides, dont get me wrong I love this thing wouldn't get rid of it for anything

Can you point out for us just exactly where the crack is?????
First off, this frame doesn't have a reputation for cracking (you are the first post I can recall), but any racer would be wise to gusset it anyway.

I tied to explaim where the crack is in my first post I know it is a little hard to understand, I also have talked to 2 different people in the last 3 days and they have seen this problem, keeping in mind one of them is an A class rider in motocross, I understand that is expected from that situation, the second was in a bad wreck, understand that one to, I also called the Honda warranty number in my warranty book talked with a Honda tech. out in Calif. they said the new frame will be a different design which tells me that they have seen some failures, if it ain't broke don't fix it, I tried to post some pic.of the crack but it tells me that my pic. is to big? How do I fix that? Thanks
