Default 185S clutch release adjustment

Book says loosen the locknut then turn the set screw counterclockwise till you feel slight pressure then turn it 1/8 turn clockwise..lock the locknut. Seems like With new friction plates seems like I have to screw it out(counterclockwise) a lot before I feel pressure. Does this sound normal?

Default 185S clutch release adjustment

Acts like it don't want to go in neutral. Got ate last night so hadn't added the oil or cranked it yet. I coated the plates with oil before I installed them. Suggestions, thoughts? Something I need to check before I put oil in it and crank it? Thanks
