Default Scrambler 500 - Installed pipe & filter tonight!!

Hey folks,

Thought I'd share some Scrammy info with you.

Tonight I installed the following on my 2006 Scrambler:K&N Air FilterWhite Brothers E Series Pipe

After installation and warm up, took it out for a quick spin in the dark. Low end torque has greatly improved!!! The front end came up very quickly and easier than ever. Had to lay off the throttle for fear of being thrown off! Even moving my weight (200 lbs) towards the front end, the bike STILL brought the front end high enough I had to back off the throttle! I am so thrilled with the performance!!! I didn't get the opportunity to see if there's any difference in top end (only rode it for a few minutes) but I'm so thrilled about the torque I really don't care about the top end. I highly recommend this install.

Install Info:

The White Brothers pipe was pretty easy to install BUT.. those springs were a hassle!!! Took me a while and some engineering to put them back on!

I didn't do any jet changes and from what I can tell, it won't be necessary.

The bike is considerably louder now than stock but again, I'm so please with the performance, I don't care!

Overall:

I'm extremely happy AND excited about these MOD's and wanted to share with some other enthusiasts!

Can't wait to get more seat time this weekend!

Take care!

Good question because I had a hard time finding the pipe. First of all, White Brothers did not update the their pipe info with later model Scrammys. The pipe shows fit for 2003 models. I checked the OEM part numbers for the silencer (03 and 06). They are the exact same part number so I figured it would fit and it did. The WB part number for the pipe is 05-055. I bought the pipe from Temecula Motor Sports. I paid $247.27 with shipping.

Temecula had to order the pipe from the factory as they didn't have any in stock so it took a couple of weeks but their customer service folks are very helpful. I called them before I ordered to ensure they could get the pipe. I would do business with them and recommend them to anyone.

Hope you find this helpful!

be carefull not rejeting it, with a higher flow air filter liek the k&N, and a higher flow Exhaust means more air will move through the eng. with the same amount of fuel from stock jet might and usually causes the eng to run lean. not enough fuel. u can check for this by pulling your spark plug and checking color, white=lean, black and wet=rich. this isn't always the case, but just want to pass the info. good luck keep us posted

That's a good idea and thankfully, I had some foresight with the jetting. I replaced the plug a few days ago with a new one so I could do some checking after the MOD's. The stock plug was BLACK; therefore, I'm guessing these bikes are rather rich from the factory. I'm going to check the plug again after a few days of riding. I have a feeling (hope I'm right) that rejetting won't be necessary.

Also, I was told by someone on this forum that if you didn't do any tuning to the WB pipe (pipe is tunable and I left it stock), jetting would not be necessary.

I'll keep you posted on the plug and thanks for keying me with tips on jetting.

Got some more seat time today with my new MOD's. ALMOST wiped out pulling the front end off the ground. I'm not used to this new torque.

Now depending on how you ride get you either the Dalton spring I told you about and set the stock secondary at 2-2(this will get you better backshift and better lowend performance) Or if you want a REAL hard hitter get you the Aaen green primary,Aaen blue secondary(set at 2-2) and a set of 10-56 (for harder pulling power)or 10-54s for a little higher rpms. You decide you want the ultimate set you go with a TEAM roller secondary and then ask about the clutching.

Well... Looks like it's not going to matter for a while. The Scrammy was trashed this weekend by a buddy. Gonna take me a while to get the bike back into shape.

Here's the thread.
