Default Plow deal or no deal????

I have a chance to get a used Glacier plow kit from the dealer here for $370.00 no tax Can Funds. Does that sound like a deal or not......I have a snowblower I use(walk-behind not for the quad)and am thinking about getting a plow for my Sportsman 450. The dealer says it s for a Sportsman 400 or 500. Will this fit my 2006 Sportsman 450??????
Thanks....................caper...........

Where is the mount on the older Glacier plow mounts.....at the front.....near the center.....Or at the rear hitch.......I heard Polaris made a plow mount that was at the rear but not anymore..............That sounds like it would keep the front-end from dropping..............caper...........

Think glaciers are front mounts. My 03 sp700 had a mount to the rear hitch but it did not really help the front weight much.

Really that is a shock...you would think the angle would help.....most of the weight at the rear should keep the frount up in the air.....Why did the stop using this set-up....any ideas???.......caper.........

I paid $283 for the "ez plow frame" $92 for the "mount plate" $225 for 60" blade plus another $600 for the winch (plus tax 14%). So if it doesn't include winch you would be getting it for a little more than 1/2 price (me $684 you $370). I would do it. You'll love plowing.............. mmmmm plowing!

If you get into the ez plow it only takes about 10 sec. to put it on and even less to take it off. Also watch your front end drop once the plow is on (only down fall). But hey its on one second and off the next. hope this helps

1 reason different is the receiver hitch on rear of newer machines instead of the hitch hole. Mine tended to ride up over the snow note: this is after I got a good chunk of something under snow & bent tube. Just got a new plow mounted for $375 but is a local guy that makes them. Was going to go with the glacier until found this.

I'm going to assume the Glacier set up you can get is the Glacier 1. They are a little heavier built but not quite as convenient as the G2, but from what I have heard and seen, they work well. You lose a little GC with them, and you should take the mount off in the summer as they can get beaten up pretty good. I have the G2 on my X2 and used it for the first time on Saturday and I am very impressed. Not sure if it is as sturdy a set up as some, but for just regular snow plowing like I intend to use it for, it seems perfect. I bought it new for $575 installed Can $$(no winch I, had that on the bike already). Good luck in your decision.
