have you taken off the the flanges (or hubs) that the brake caliper and the sprocket attaches to.these are often hard to break loose. If you have'nt got the sprocket hub off, there will be another c clip around the axle holding the hub on.if both the hubs are off then you can try taking the axle out both directions.the only other thing holding the axle might be a metal tube that goes around the axle in between the bearings this tube is in place to hold the bearings apart when you tighten the bearings up.if the bearing are not destroyed then you may be trying to push that tube and one of your bearings out but if your replacing the bearings anyway then keep pounding.one word of caution, that holder that holds the bearings is expensive. and dont ruin the end of your axle by pounding on it to much

If you have the axle nut loosen, which loosens the tension from the hubs pushing on the bearings, and have the brake hub completely off of the quad, I can't see why you can't get it off. And the chain is also off of the axle, so all you would need to do is pull it out of the carrier. Do you have the axle nut completely loosened so that the brake hub will slide right off? If you can't get it off its because of the ring that the axle nut pushes up against. Please let us know if you have gotten the axle out.
