Pulled ice shack 2 miles accross lake full throttle and only going 10 miles an hour. Now it runs like junk. Cant get to idle or stay running with out chocking it and then it still will not accelerate or stay running. Changed fuel ,plugs, filter. Cleaned carbs checked exhaust pipe for plogging. Have 124 lbs of compression. Any new ideas hate to take it to shop

 

perhaps the cylinder has been scard and gotten to big for the piston

Well, i dont really know. Cause what you say happened is strange to me. Does it have a belt drive?

 

check clutch weights and buttons

 

you took the whole carb apart and cleaned it and blew it out with compressed air? sounds like a plugged main jet.

 

i dont know but if you ever find someone who really knows what there talking about let me know my 400 runs like crap too and can not figure

this is my first polaris maybe when start to run bad you just rebuild the whole thing ?i guess i will find out after hunting season

 

hows it running ?whats it doing? no need to rebuild the whole thing if the compression is good, mine is 10 years old and had a hard life when i bought it the motor was just rebuilt, there was mud in places i didnt think mud could get, i just started replacing everything else so it turned out good for me i got 3200.00 in it

iv'e still got other things to do to it, clutch kit, pipe??? i wanna wake this thing up its fast already but it could be better.
