Ok... Here my problem.... Sunday I was out ridding and playing around on the ice... Long story short... I was spinning on the ice pretty good doing donuts and having fun, well I caught solid ground and blew 2 nice holes in my gear case, lost some teeth off of the gears inside it and messed it up pretty good... Well here is my problem... Being that I have an 04 Mag with a value of 3500 or so and the cost to fix is well over 1200. Do I fix it or go new... And treat it a lesson learned...

The ATV is paid for so thats not a concern... A few things that I have fixed is the hillard clutch and ECM... Funny thing is I seem to have a problem ever December... First one was the ecm then last year was the clutch....

My thinking is this... The ATV is under powered but I like it, but I not sure if I want to more money into it and just go bigger...

What your thoughts?????

sell it or fix it and then sell it, you might have gernaded your gear case, what other damage did you get but have not seen yet and will after u spend 1200 to get the gear case replaced. cv joints?, well that woud prob be about it now that i think of it. the eng deffently didn't benifit eather. idk, your wanting more power, what better time to get it than now.

dang ice can be tricky, i got the briliant idea on my 400ex to see how many times i could spin around in a strait line on a frozen lake. well ya know the slush from the ice augers for ice fishing doesnt stay slushy, haha, well it froze and my rear tire hit it on the second spin, 45mph flip, and about 10 old men running across a lake and my girlfriend screaming in the back ground of the video is always fun to rewatch. rebend the handle bars and finished the day. week later flat on my back trying to pull up a wheelie and the bars snap haha.

best of luck, keep us posted.

Ok... I just took out the tranny and found all of my problems....

1st the case is shredded... (I knew this much)
2nd both 22teeth sprockets are trashed... One only having 2 teeth left on it... The other only missing 1.
3rd the chain for the 2 sprockets looks bad but can pass but I'm replacing anyways..

Parts total 680 with shipping... Does anyone know of a place to get a good price on parts like this? or is this as good as it gets....

You may be able to get a good used trans from this guy and save yourself a lot of money.

Call Rex's Cycle Shop 270-384-6018 and ask for Matt.

They are closed on Wed.
