different fan question, mine won't shut off...
#1
as soon as I turn my key on, the fan comes on and never goes off while riding until I turn the key off. I'm guessing it's a sensor, but anyone know which one? I know most guys complain off the fan never coming on.
#2
well then it sounds like the temp sending switch is stuck allowing current to get through or somehow it may be crossed with something else. Try letting the quad cool down and once its all the way cool try turning the key on again and see if that works.

the quad can sit outside for a week and as soon as I go turn the key on the fan comes on. I'm guessing the sending switch is bad but I don't know which one it is...
if I unplug it the fan should go off, correct? but where is it?

Should be no prob. Go in and look at the wires comming from the fan to the thermostat area. There will be 2 female wires connected to your temp sensor. Un-plug one of those wires comming off your fan and then turn on key. The fan should not come on.
Then you can bypass the thermostat sendor and go to checker auto and get a $2 toggle switch. They have them that are ready to plug RIGHT in. You can drill a little hole in the side if gas tank cover and install toggle switch, So when you are riding heavy you can run with it on at all times with the flip of the switch. Good luck.
If you look closely at pic #4 in my page you can see a little alum switch right above my temp guage. That is where my toggle used to be. No need to run or connect any new wires.
