hey i have a little 90 cc and i bored out the main jet. i went to run it and in order to, i had to remove the airducting and put mesh over the end of the carburator for a filter, i tried a 1 foot toob straight up and curved for a air scoop, but once i run it over 2/4 throttle, it dies out, what can i do for a air breather and what should the recommended oil injection be??

 

what kind of machine is it? and its a 2 stroke?

 

its a early manco 90cc 2 stroke

 

first of allyou better put a filter on it,be right on the carb or what you rigged up, you shouldnt of drilled the jet out without taking a plug reading to make sure it was running lean, i think your whole problem might be the jetting, seems like you might have opened it up to big. dont run it with the mesh over the carb thats not a filter.

 

how can i tell if the mixture now is to lean, like it will run fine wide open, but i dont know how to make sure im not gonna toast the block

 

check the plug, black is rich, grayish white is lean. your looking for brownish color.

is there room to put a unifilter right on the carb, if so i would do that but your gonna have to play with jetting so you dont run lean and smoke the piston.if you measure the the outside of the carb where u put the filter, you can go to unifilter website and find a universal filter to fit. theres all sizes on there u should be able to find some thing to fit.

did you check the compression on it? i would do it before u spend money on other things.

 

how would i go about checking that?

 

compression tester, you screw it into spark plug hole it has a guage on it im not sure what the compression should be on that, do you know any mechanics that might have access to one? i would definatly check the compressin before you start doing all these things to it this.
