I was wondering what kind of nerf bars to buy. I really like the ac racing ones but I'm not sure whether to spend the extra money for the pro peg nerfs with the heal guards. Are the heal guards worth the extra money? Do I need them? What are your experiences with them? The quad will be mostly ridden on trails, but I wouldn't be surprised if I take it out to the track once or twice this summer.

Love my DG Race Pegs! Only complaint I have is that being (light!) aluminum, the pegs get a little slippery when they are wet and muddy (not a frequent occurance here in the desert).

 

I also am trying to figure out what nerfs to go with. Currently on my 450 I took off the stock heal guards and am running nothing. I like it this way because its easier to keep clean and easier to burn through the trails. I used to have a LT 250R that had a set of nerfs on it. On the trail, sticks and logs would get stuck in the nerfs and hold me back... Not that I am much of a mudder, but the mud and gunk would get stuck on the nerfs and heal guards weighing me down. Now I have moved to just as much trail riding with some time at the track.. I have to break down and get some because of the safety factor. I have gotten my legs caught in the tires before and its not a pretty site. The nerfs and heel guards would prevent that. I am looking at AC racing, IMS and Daryl Rath. I will probably go with the pegs too just because of the strength and they install easier. Hope this helps.

They look good! Any problems getting them on? Where did you get them?

 

Nah I haven't had any problem with them at all and the pegs are removable for when they need to be replaced and you can get them in aluminum also besides the black...I got them from albaaction.com , but bikebandit.com also has good prices.

 

BUT THE AC'S I GOT THEN AND THEY HAVE SAVED MY LEGS ON NUMEROUS OCC....TRUST ME
