Default engine breaking system

I HAVE THE 2006 POLARIS 500 EFI.

THE ENGINE BREAKING SYSTEM I THOUGHT WAS REALY NICE TO HAVE WHEN GOING DOWN A HILL OR DITCH.
BUT I LIVE IN MINNESOTA AND LOVE TO USE IT FOR FISHING ON THE ICE.

DO YOU KNOW WHAT I'M GOING TO SAY???

I WAS CRUSING ON THE ICE AWAY FROM MY DARK HOUSE HEADING TOWARDS THE ACCESS TO GET OFF THE LAKE.
AS I GOT CLOSER I LET OFF ON THE GASS TOTALLY.
I STARTED TO SLIDE SIDE WAYS AND NEEDED TO STEAR LEFT, RIGHT,LEFT,RIGHT....YOU KNOW!!
IN ORDER TO END THIS YOU NEED TO GIVE IT GAS BUT I COULD NOT DO THAT CUZ I WAS GETTING CLOSER TO MY EXIT.
WHO CAN I TALK TO ABOUT THIS??(AT POLARIS)
THIS IS NOT RIGHT. PEOPLE THAT LIVE IN FLORIDA OR CAL DECINING THESE???
DOES NOT WORK ON ICE AT ALL EVEN WHEN GOING SLOW. I CALLED MY FRIEND ABOUT THAT HAS A 2005 700 EFI AND STARTED TO LAUGH CUZ HE NEW EXACTLY WHAT I WAS GOING TO SAY.
ANYTHING TO DISCONECT??
THANKS IN ADVANCE

I think it is the whole clutch ...Some people change them right from the dealer at day one.......Usually they go the other way ...WANT E.B.S..........My two SP450's did not come with this....The dealer told me I would not miss it .....because I never had it before......So I did not bother with it.......There is another reason for not having it............THANKS..................caper....... .....

CHANGE YOU FRONT PRIMARY CLUTCH TO A NON EBS CLUTCH AND THAT WILL TAKE CARE OF THE PROBLEM.

I believe that you would have change both front and rear clutches to the NON EBS type in order to get rid of it totally. Changing just the front clutch will only get rid of the very lower EBS effect. Any speed above 5mph would still have the EBS effect. Until it slowed to 5mph mark then the front clutch would finally let go.

i believe you are correct, you can pickup clutches off of ebay or call northend cycle salvage 10800-428-7821 www.rick@necycle.com if they dont have the part you need they can locate it for you across the nation.these are used parts at half of what they cost you new.

the ebs is in the primary clutch. if you look between the sheeves you'll see a groved center piece which the belts notches ride in to slow down when the gas is released and the sheeves open up the belt drops down on this one way bushing. if you just keep the idle up enpugh to keep the belt engaged instead of leting right off it until you slow enough to stop then the ebs wont come in to play.

You will need to change both the secondary and primary clutches...
