sportsman idle at 1300
#1
When I got my 2006 carb 450 2 months ago it idled aroun 1100 now that its cold outside and I have switched to 92 octane it idles arounf 1300. I dont know if it's becasue its cold out or because the higher octane. It stays up at 1300 even after riding for a while. I just filled the tank so I cant put 87 back in yet. Is there something else that it could be or is it just the combo of gas and cold weather. I also put 92 in the trailblazer and it has way more power than it did on 87.
any ideas

yea dont waste your time w/ high octane. its speed said if your stock. make sure your enrichner isnt sticking open and causing it to idle high. also (shouldnt be a problem being new) make sure theres no air leak loke around the carb boot.

Hi Stendori - I just went for another small ride and it's ideling about 1350 to 1400 now. I put 87 in it and still runs high. I cleaned the plug before the ride and checkd it after and it's light grey.
How do you check to see if the enrichener is sticking open? or if there are air leaks?
Also I noticed that there is gas in the bowl overflow tube (i think thats what it is anyway). I was just riding around - nothing rough - shouldnt that be dry?
