Trailboss 325 (red & white)
#1
Still shopping the used market here....
I found a decent ad for a Trailboss 325.
I've always been a fan of the old Trailboss bodystyle. So I decided I'll go have a look at it after the holiday. I remember back when the Trailboss first went from the 250cc 2-stroke to the 325cc 4-stroke.... it seems like I remember there was some issue with oil lines going to an oil cooler or something (?) Am I remembering right and if so, what year models were effected?
Anything else to look for?
Also, I don't think this model had any sort of engine braking (EBS) right?
Do any of the clutch kits out there have this feature for the Trailboss?
THANKS

We have and 05 Trail boss and my brother has an older 325, have had real good luck with both. Ive never seen EBS on the trailboss, and dont know of there are any clutch kits, but I know a lot of people change the primary {I think} spring to a pink and that has a real good effect. I never heard of any oil line problems.
hope this helps a little.

Still got my 00 boss.
The oil line thing was a recall from Polaris, so it should have been fixed already.
Mines taken quite a beating and never let me down. Even made it back to camp with a chain split.
EPI makes a clutch kit for it, think it was around 300 bucks. Got the pink primary spring in mine for 20 bucks.
These things were never meant to be fast, but still it's one of the better 2wd I've had out in the mud.
If you really want to spice it up, you can get a 414 kit from Rick Ritter for under 800 bucks (last time I checked, it may have changed).

I purchased a 2000 Trail Boss in November for $1500, but I got that "deal" because it was a friend of the family. I'd say if it's under $2000 go for it. When I bought it I had to replace the brake caliper which was roughly $200 and I also has to replace both rear end bearings. Bearings were like $70 or so. Other than that it's a good ATV. Like the other posts stated it doesn't have a lot of speed but it'll get you where you wanna go for sure. Not too bad for a 2wheel drive in the mud either. I plan on putting a few more dollars into it, replace the exhaust system and I need new tires. Did you buy it? Let me know if you did, maybe we can share some information...
