What is the difference in the engine types between the ho and non-ho polaris engines. This engine is in a scrambler 2000 model vs. the ho type engine. Are there any non engine preformance mods to get to somewhat equal performance from the two models?

i think the cam is one of the changes. you would need a parts break down to know for sure i would think. there is another post in here somewhere on this forum about this if you search.

 

The 2 differences are the H.O. has a bigger carb and bigger cam. The 2000 Scrambler 500 is the H.O. model.

 

What I found wierd: I bought my 2006 450 - which is supposed to be NON HO, correct? I received a mailing from Polaris (not the dealer) and they have my machine marked as a 2006 450 HO.

Whats up with that?

 

If you check the Polaris "PROOF" DVD they list the 2006 Sp 450 as E.F.I. also......I just think they f#*k-up on the listing......OR did it to look better than the ones they are comparing there brands too. ..........Caper.....

Maybe they let the cat out of the bag and are going to make a 450 Sp with E.F.I. Don't know why they would ... .... the 500 is close enough for anybody to up-grade too. (if they want E.F.I)....Thanks.......

 

caper is right is was a misprint as there is no efi or ho for the sp 450.
