Had About Enough!!!

Well, here I go knowing full well I'll get flamed, therefore I don my asbestos suit.
I have had about enough of the "My Polaris is better than your junk Honda," and "Polaris is junk" garbage. Why, oh why cannot we all admit and say that ALL ATV's are pretty great!
I cannot believe that in a forum that is suppost to be visited by what I'd hope were adults, we get so much of this infantile, childish garbage to wade through. GROW-UP, please!
Ok, go ahead and flame me now, I'm an adult and can take it. As I learned at a very early age: sticks and stones can break my bones, but names will never hurt me.
And please, make a concerted effort to get along, without the use of such adhominen attacks.

Ditto. I was telling my buddy the other day ( who has a Sportsman 500 and I a Foreman 450 ) how much better mine was than his !
All kidding aside , I believe all the bikes these days are great for the best part. Few different features here and there but overall , you cant really go wrong buying anything. Sometimes its fun to razz each other, but one must remember , its all in fun ! ( I hope )
Ride On........................

I can't be responsible for all the idiots who perposly try to make arguements between riders of different brands. But if someone makes an attack on my machine I won't hold back, I stand by what I ride as does everyone else.
Theres a difference between pointing out a fact or making a comparison of two or more machines and saying your machine sucks.
I may make comparisons but I won't make direct attacks.

SCRAMDADDY,
You stand by your fourwheeler like it is a family member. What is up with that man? If someone makes an attack (which is just immature in the first place) on what you ride why must you defend your ride like it is your namesake. Wow man, this is a hobby not a battle.

The only thing I can figure is riders have bad mouthed Polaris for so many years that some Polaris owners are permanently scarred. You are right HH this stuff is way out of hand. I posted some stuff on belts on Honda forum. Honda aint got any belts and here it came from polaris. i could see it if I did it in their house, but I was talking to Honda folk. Hey, we all otta be happy we got a bike and a place to ride and maybe a sandwich to eat when we get done. Lets be brothers here and stop this 1st grade playground fighting. Atvs are not family members.........

It's human nature to fight...at least we aren't killing each other!
I usually take what people say with a grain of salt...but sometimes I have to just put them in there place. It's cool among riding buddies to rag on each others' quads...but it always stays fun. It is easy to find negative aspects on every quad made today, so if you make one about someone elses...expect payback in full!
fun, fun, fun!

You said it! Both brands are good, they just have different 'personalities'.
To overgeneralize, most Polaris machines I have been on (save the 325) have been fairly sporty, fast, and smooth riding (especially the Sportsman).
The Hondas I have been on seemed lower to the ground, more stable or solid feeling (but with less ground clearance), with very predictable handling.
I won't get into the reliablilty issue but to say I have seen some problems with older Polaris machines, of which all the weak points seem to have been redesigned. Only time will tell if they will equal Honda in the long haul.
I have a 99 Polaris and a 96 Honda and they have both been trouble free. The Honda has more use, but the Poalris is gaining fast, as it is just more fun and pleasant to ride, FOR WHAT I USE IT FOR, and that is the kicker. Seems everyone thinks that everyone else drives under the same conditions as they do (the bashers anyway) and just can't see what the benefits of anything different would be.

Please quote your source on this statement because I'd like to add this to thesis:
"It's human nature to fight...at least we aren't killing each other!"
What separates man from the animal kingdon is the imposable thumb, and our ability to reason and logic. With reason and logic human nature becomes something more than just programed responces to set criteria.
In fact, human nature is to learn, to better one's self. That is an all encompassing nature, and while I'll agree that at times part of that nature is to fight (for protection and self preservation), to make such a blanket statement is unmerited.
I was serious, if there is a source on your statment, I'd appreciate it.

That is perfectly acceptable if you don't like me. I accept that.
And I have thought long and hard about ceasing to visit and participate, and censor many of the threads I read based upon topic. However, this is a public forum, and all are allowed to participate so I shall continue. It just grieves me that many have not learned to respect others and treat them as they woudl like to be treated.
Then again, it is highly possible, given our society, that many do want to be disrespected and abused. Hmmmm, that has potential, but it's more likely that many are a prodct of their rearing and experiences, therefore it is easy to get on a faceless, nameless envioronment and become something that they are not.
Thank you for your responce, I hope that even if you dont like me that simply having read it will place something in your mind that may sway your actions in the future.
