I plow commercial jobs and the only thing I can say is go buy a cycle country plow and get the electric lift system or a winch, and let it snow letit snow let it snow!!! I plow with a Rancher Es and a 450s.

I have a 2000 Rancher 4x4 with a Moose 50" snow plow. I use my winch to raise and lower the blade. My Rancher plows the snow effortlessly. No problems at all. I think it is definately worth having the snow plow. Your Rancher should have no problems what so ever pushing the snow. Enjoy.

I plowed for the first time last night with my Kodiak. I was amazed at how easy it pushed the snow. I have a new Cycle Country plow with a manual lift. Lifting the blade is as easy as lifting a cup of coffee, no kidding. I'm sure the Rancher would do just as well.

I must say, I really have limited knowledge about how, overall. We've not really ahd enough to gauge it. However, even with the limited amount we've had, I just had to push some of it, even thought I could have taken care of it handily with my snowblower.

Cant wait to really get hammered and see how my Rancher and Cabela's plow will really do.

Just curious, have you noticed that when you have your blade in the plowing position that there is a lot of slop in the manual handle? And secondly, have you spent time adjusting the skids so that you get a nice level blade, I haven't as of yet - not sure what the best way of going about it is. Thanks.

I believe the slop is because, if you follow the directions, you're supposed to have your front tires 1 1/2 inches off of the ground when you hook up the cable. I assume that is so you always have a positive connection to the ground. No idea on the skids issue. I just run my plow to the ground, and it does extremely well.

Thanks for the info, I'm not sure about those skids, I to am running my plow directly on the pavement - the results are great!

2001 Rancher ES 4X4 Green, I bought a cycle country 48" plow with manuel lift and it works great, we got around 10" of snow and I plowed snow all day and had a blast doing it, I even made $200 doing a convience store twice and plowing a couple of drive ways, don't bother getting the tire chains you won't need them the Rancher 4X4 does great in the snow and I'm very pleased with the power of the Rancher and the performance of the cycle country plow. I can't what until we get some more snow.
