Default Question about some possible wiring problems?

We were out riding yesterday and my wifes cousin was riding her 05 400 EX and crashed head on into another rider. It bent up the front bumper pretty good but I didn't notice any other cosmetic or body damage. Problem is now when you hit neutral the light won't come on. I bumped the handlebars and the light came on once but not again for the rest of the day. I am assuming there is a short somewhere but have not done any electrical work on a bike before so have no idea where to start. Any help would be appreciated......
