Default was this a good deal?

I got a 1989 trailboss 250 from a freinds dad. Had a bad motor, starters, all bulbs, front tires and battery. I got a motor on ebay from a 93 with carb and both starters also had 115 psi for compression and bought tires from walmart with battery too. Put in new bulbs and inicator lights. The thing works great now but I'm wondering if it was a good deal here is what I paid

250 trailboss ------ 250.00
Ebay motor from 93 plug n play----------177.00
Tires---- 98.00
battery---36.00
Misc lights---25.00

Total= 586.00

Well I geuss it is a good deal, could have been better if he took 100 for the wheeler. It sat in his yard since 2002 and wasn't going anywhere, he claimed he could get 500 for it, like it was. that was until I told him nada price on one that ran safely was 325.00 I still can't believe what we(including me) are willing to pay for wheelers. my 96 sportsman 500 books for 1500 average retail, yet since it had only 500 miles on it I paid 2600.

it all depends on the person buying wheather its worth a bigger price to them right. some people think their prodsucts worth gold, when its really isnt worth iron ore to us. lol.

I think the biggest thing that determins used ATV pricing is condition and milage. My budddy just bought a 2002 sp 700 with 500 miles on it. Said he paid $3400.00 at auction. Average retail was $3700.00 when he bought it. I Think he got a good deal for the condition it is in.

If I drove by your house and that machine was sitting in your yard with a sign saying $600 and it was complete and functional, I'd be writing you a check like now no matter what it looked like. Good buy, IMO. Couldn't buy one for that in Tucson.

Syracuse, eh? I spent the first 30 yrs of my life around there. I'm happy to be in the desert now. Stay warm!
