I have a 1986 polaris trailboss 250 4x4. I have had problems with it running. Every time i give it full throttle it bogs down and dies. I havent done any mods or things like that. It was running fine befor and now it wont run properly. THANKS for the help. P.S. i already cleaned the carb more then once.

Since you have cleaned the carb and checked the float level, choke plunger and feel confident about that portion these are what I would suggest checking next....Fuel filter, make sure your fuel valve is on (turn it to reserve to test it and see if it makes a difference) fuel pump and pickup in the tank. Next if you have not solved the problem I would check the clutches..I had a secondary spring break and it acted like a fuel problem because it open and bog it at full throttle. Last is electrical..on mine I had a problem with the reverse override button being tempermental and causing a problem..I sprayed it with wd-40 pushed it a bunch of times and have not had the prob since. Let us know what you find.

It still has its original top end in it. I think it might be the pilot jet is to big.

pilot jets only are made to work from idle up to 1/4 throttle. if it is dieing when you hold it open then its nto the clutches as the problem.is the plug wet after you kill it w/ full throttle or some what dry.too much gas, too little?

If it ran fine before there is something wrong with it and can be fixed, if you lower the needle you are going to lean it out more and you don't want to do that. When you lower the e clip it will make it richer. What happens when you pull the choke when it is running? Or even try spraying carb cleaner in the intake to see what happens. Also you cannot rule out a crank seal, seen alot of em go out of the magneto side. Does it maybe seem like an elect issue, if so check the plug cap for resistance should be 5k ohms. If it seems like a problem with your switches you can unplug the small black wire by the cdi box and that will eliminate any problem with a switch but you will have to plug it back in to shut the wheeler off. Hope this helps, Happy Hunting
