Wolverine 450 Rims?
#1
Are there any aluminum rims that are the same size as the stock Wolverine 450? I like the stock tires on it, but I don't like the crappy steel rims that come stock. can anybody PLEASE suggest some stock sized aluminum rims?

The 450 comes with painted aluminum wheels stock. Get a magnet and you'll see that it won't stick. They only look steel since they are painted.
That being said they are 12x6 front and 12x7.5" rear. Most aftermarket wheels are 12x7. I just ordered the ITP C series Type 6 for mine. I will post up pics once I get them on this weekend. They look like this: ITP

I put a pair of Douglas Red Labels on my '06 Wolvy rearend after I caved one in on a deadfall tree. The dealer priced out the OEM wheels at around $275 each, so the Douglas wheels were a good buy at $135 each So far they've been extremely durable in the rocks that we have up here in central CT. I find that the radial tires offer super traction but the sidewalls are very soft. I tubed the rear tires and run them at 7.5 psi, one thing that I find with this machine machine is it's tendency to go straight when the tires hook up. It can get a little scary when you're dodging the trees.

I never could find any wheels the stock size, so I recently got the ITP SS wheels and kept the stock tires at least for now they look sweet, but they don't have the same offset as the stock rims, the track is at least a couple inches wider, but they work great. I have noticed an improvement in handling and overall stability.
I virtually never see mud in Arizona, but if I did I'd probably be looking to extend the fenders. The other concern I have is that the rear brake rotor is now exposed, and in front the new rims are about the same width as the tires, and that has me concerned about rocks. I think this set up will work best with new 25 inch tires to put some space between the ground and the brake rotor/rims.
The stock rims are worthless on the rocks! I was left standed on the trail twice with severly dented stock rims. These new ITP SS rims have a lifetime warranty, I have not read the fine print of that warranty, but I figure it can't hurt for such a small price increase over the C series, I will get the photos in asap. I paid $69 each for the SS.
